Cupping culture

Many answers start at the cupping table — where we calibrate language before we publish tasting notes on the menu board.

  • Is RoastRush a fire-safety / pyrotechnics brand, a life-coaching programme, an energy-drink shop, a cannabis brand, or does it guarantee award-winning flavour in every bag?

No. We are a micro-roastery café and pour-over atelier in Singapore. "Roast" means coffee roasting craft; "Rush" means the decisive second a roast is pulled from the drum — not arson theatre, not fire-safety products, not cannabis, not insult comedy. We are NOT a life-coaching programme (the .life TLD is branding only). We do NOT sell energy drinks as our product and do NOT guarantee competition awards or identical cups across every bag. Flavour depends on origin, roast date, storage and brew method.

  • What are typical drink and bag prices?

Filter cups run roughly S$4.50–S$9 depending on format; espresso S$4.50–S$7 with milk. Retail bags are typically S$22–S$68 by weight and origin. Cupping sessions S$45–S$65 per person. Prices shift with green costs — the menu board is authoritative.

  • How do roast dates work on your bags?

Every bag prints the day we dropped the roast from the drum — not packaging day, not a vague best-before. We recommend rest windows per origin on the label. Filter lots often peak between day seven and twenty-one; naturals may need longer. Staff will advise at purchase based on how you brew at home.

  • Can I book a cupping or visit?

Yes. Use the contact form or email [email protected] with preferred dates. Cuppings run Tue–Sun, usually before noon. Walk-in café visits need no booking when seats are free.

  • What is your seating and laptop policy?

We have limited tables — a mix of counter and small shared seating. Laptop work is fine mid-morning; during peak lunch we may ask long sessions to share space. No time limits before 11:00; courtesy over rules.

  • Do you offer milk alternatives and allergen information?

Oat and soy milk are available. Allergen cards at the bar list milk, nuts in pastries from our neighbour baker, and soy. We do not operate a nut-free kitchen — cross-contact is possible. Ask staff before ordering if you have severe allergies.

  • What do you NOT do?

We do not sell energy drinks as our core product, operate as a marketing agency, teach income courses, provide life coaching, perform fire or pyrotechnics theatre, sell cannabis, or claim guaranteed perfect cups or fake competition medals. We serve coffee with lawful hospitality only.

  • How is guest data for bookings and mailing lists handled?

Enquiry and booking data is used to respond and operate reservations under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. Mailing list sign-ups are separate with explicit opt-in. See our Privacy Policy for retention, access rights, and the Privacy Officer contact.

  • Do you cater events or supply office beans?

Yes — office subscriptions and event brewing are listed on the menu page. Contact us with headcount, brew equipment, and delivery address. River Valley and central Singapore are our primary delivery zone.

  • Why did my bag taste different from the café cup?

Home water chemistry, grinder quality, humidity storage, and rest time all shift flavour. Our disclaimer applies: menu notes are cupping readings at the bar, not guarantees in your kitchen. Staff can suggest ratio adjustments if you bring notes from home.
