District & room

Our ground-floor unit sits among galleries, design studios, and independent restaurants — a neighbourhood that expects craft without ceremony. The space is bright ash and linen, built as a roast gallery rather than a dark espresso bar. A modest drum roaster sits behind glass so guests can watch charge and drop without theatrics — no flame props, no smoke machines, just heat and timing.

Seating is limited by design. We prefer a quiet cupping table and a steady filter bar over queue culture. Laptop guests are welcome mid-morning; peak lunch is for shorter visits.

What we are — and are not

Clarifying our name

RoastRush is a lawful Singapore café serving coffee. "Roast" refers to coffee roasting — the transformation of green seed to brewable bean. "Rush" refers to the decisive second we pull a batch from the drum, when development and sweetness must align. We are not a fire-safety supplier, pyrotechnics brand, cannabis retailer, energy-drink shop, marketing agency, income course, or life-coaching programme — the .life domain is branding only.

We do not guarantee award-winning flavour in every bag or identical cups day after day. We cup honestly, publish roast dates plainly, and adjust service as lots age. That transparency is the hospitality standard we hold ourselves to.

Sourcing & roast approach

We buy green coffee in small volumes through importers who provide lot traceability — origin, process, harvest, moisture. Relationships with farms are mediated through those partners; we do not invent named farm partnerships for marketing copy. Each lot gets a sample roast before we commit to a full batch. Development profiles live in our roast log, not on generic templates copied from social media.

Rest is part of the recipe. We would rather delay a retail release than sell a bag that cups mute on day four. Filter and espresso share one calendar so the room never fights itself.

Team approach

Our team is small — roast lead, baristas who cup, and part-time service staff trained on both filter and basic espresso. We do not claim world-champion titles or fabricated competition medals. Training happens at the cupping table: scoring sheets, calibration cups, and weekly tastings of calendar lots.

Guest-facing language stays plain. We describe what we taste — citrus, panela, muted chocolate — as readings, not medical claims or promises of mood alteration. Milk alternatives are available; allergen information is posted at the bar and listed on the FAQ.

Hospitality values

  • Honest roast dates on every retail bag
  • Cupping before service, not after complaints
  • Lawful advertising — no cure claims, no hustle culture
  • Walk-in welcome when seats allow; cupping by appointment
